Art secection could be bigger, on a positive note Manga section is brilliant and up to date.

A stand alone store with a wide selection of books, toys, crafts and more. The childrens section is huge and has a stage. Very helpful staff.

A lot of hand written tags on the shelves are misleading and discriminatory. I was browsing at the travel book section and saw Israel, and other Middle East travel guides are in Africa section. Please don’t tell me Jesus is from Africa. It is very disrespectful and may offend some of the customers. Another tag also said “I bless the rains down in Africa!” which shows the staff are ignorance and know nothing about Africa. The dry weather mostly happens in the northern part of Africa and the rest have tropical, monsoon, and rainforest weather….. It will be terrible if customers saw that and assume Africa is dry. The staff just need to do a fact check before saying these things. People visit Barnes & Noble to seek for knowledge, but they ended up mislead by staff who don’t even have common sense.

This store location has, in my own experience, a generous Manga section that seems to grow with each and every visit. This location also has some of the fastest service and more friendly staff that Ive been around. Cannot praise this shop enough.

Beautiful store! You can smell the books as soon as you walk in. Wide selection, nice comfortable and bright aesthetic, and friendly employees. They helped me set up a membership and I already saved half of the membership fee ($25) with discounts, so I think itll be worth it. Please support physical bookstores! It is such a nice experience to feel, smell, and flip through a book before you buy it. Theres no better place to do that than here. Highly recommended!

Everyone was very helpful, we found one book that we wanted right away and we ordered another one. The process was very easy. I even love the smell of Barnes & Noble, new books and coffee, its perfect!

I buy a lot of items from B and Noble. My grandkids love books so this Nana is always buying fun things for them. My hubby and I both love to read plus our kids and their spouses, too! Its a great place to find unique stocking stuffers!

They have more than just books. We spent about $400 on books, games and toys for the kids. They have some pretty awesome Lego sets. Dont even get me started on the huge selection of books and the great sales they have on them.

Its Barnes and Noble. Pricey, and you feel bad about supporting a giant corporation...but they got what you need. Staff is always super friendly and helpful though. Never had a bad experience with them.

Have been going here since I was a kid and have always loved the selection. Now taking my daughter along, shes realized her love of books and we visit frequently. Wonderful kids/youth section with something for everyone

I take my girlfriend here and the people are really nice. They keep all of their books updated when new ones are released so you never fall behind.

Always a fun place to take the kids to find some books and games. Prices are comparable enough to online unless youre going digital but the staff wasnt very friendly which is the reason for the loss of a star but they werent rude or mean so I still give it 4.

Barnes and Noble is by and far the best bookshop. Sometimes a bit pricier than say online shopping, sure, but they have such a great variety and atmosphere that nothing compares. If I had any complaints, it would be that we only have one local location.

Not a great B&N to go to if you want to hang out and read a book. The coffeeshop has covered all of the power outlets, the bathrooms are partially out of order, and the entire building is in desperate need of an update. Management should understand a coffeeshop, even at Barnes and Noble, is only as good as it’s atmosphere, and this place has next to none.

Went to the Childrens area to find a book on Whales. I spoke with a very knowledgeable associate and he said there was a great Whale book, but they were out of stock in the store. He found the book online and ordered it for my 4 year old grandson. Free shipping and arrived in just 3 days. It was just what we were looking for!

I needed to order some books for a friend who cant get out and about. The girl was extremely helpful, and they accommodated all my needs. Thank you. The prices were to high. Even shipping. Main reason I would not have gone to them if I had been able to do what needed done elsewhere.

I absolutely love this Barnes and Noble! Its a smaller store, but still has the basic layout and most of the sections of the larger stores and a very large selection! Im more of a magazine and coffee person, but I peruse the books from time to time for something Star Wars or Star Trek, possibly TOR or Black Library and they have a huge sci-fi/fantasy section. The store is always clean and bright, and the shelves are clean and always in good order and stocked full! The employees are very pleasant and quite knowledgeable about where everything is. I have never not been able to find or have ordered, anything I needed. The starbucks counter people are awesome and the drinks rock! Go and go often - this is an excellent place to blow a couple of hours when you have nothing better to do! 5 STARS to the staff and management!!! Always a good time!

Only 1 complaint I havent been in this store in years let alone stollen anything but yet when I went in today I had someone fallowing me like I had I will never go in here again that was rediculas and so rude and unnecessary

Didnt go inside but the parking lot I drove around in was very bad. Lots of potholes and lots of trash.

I love shopping at Barnes and Noble, however it’s been increasingly more frustrating for me. I go primarily for the manga. Their options have been quickly dwindling and they don’t seem to be getting new volumes in. A lot of the volumes I’m after that they do have are torn or bent. When I’m shopping for new books, I like them to be in new condition.I decided to order online from them after my local store didn’t have or restock what I was looking for after months of waiting. I assumed that these books, coming from a book store, would come packaged in a fitted box of some kind. To protect them during shipping. Instead, they came in one of those shipping bags that clothes might come in. Not even a firmer bubble envelope. Needless to say, several of my books were noticeably damaged so I promptly returned them..The people and service is always wonderful here, just the care and quality and variety of their books has been disappointing recently. I hope this is temporary.

I absolutely love this place. Its become one of my wife and Is places to be able to go to relax our minds after a rough day. The employees are always nice and helpful. If they dont have a book in stock they always offer to order if for you. I have bought countless books here and they take good care of their books. Maybe a couple times a book I was going to get wasnt in the best of shape but honestly when people are picking them up and messing with them its impossible not to have some slightly damaged books. If this is the case and you choose to buy the book still they will give you a discount due to the product being damaged as well. This is one of my favorite places in Springfield and Im happy we have an amazing bookstore with great employees. Keep up the good work Barnes & Noble!

As much as I hate to put this on the store here (which by the way is very nice), but when one can’t get a response from the customer service 800 number the store referred you to then I say fair game. I ordered a book in store on 12/26/20 which was supposed to arrive by 1/4/21. I contacted the store on 1/8/21 and was referred to the delivery service (which I called) the transferred to another carrier (which I called). I have repeatedly tried calling Barnes and Noble 800 number, with no success. Today (2/9/21) was the last straw! 1HOUR on hold and not a single LIVE person ever answered. It has been the same every time I called, and today I thought I can wait them out! Lol boy was I wrong!! Honestly, I originally just wanted to see how much longer it would be before I got the book. Now?Now I really just want my money back.

I love Barnes & Noble! They are beyond political in their childrens section! Kids have enough stress already through all the things in life going on. Young kids dont need more. Every magazine u can imagine, but only getting 4 instead of 5 stars cuz they stopped carrying my fan mag BWBK. Bring that back and its a 5 frfr. Cute little thang at the register was all of a 9.8 tho, but I was her age in the late 80s so Im gonna go ahead stop typing, and bury my head in the sand.

Regret virus has caused what looks like merchandise down sizing. Renewed my membership and got hot peppermint tea to go. Very good flavor. People friendly. Keep masks on while shopping, and have a happy safe non violent new year.

Today I visited the Springfield MO location. I spent over two hours leisurely shopping while my wife and kids did the same. I witnessed an employee telling customers to “pull your mask up” after hearing him tell several customers this I heard him tell a teenager “You have to wear it not just put it on for a few seconds” in a very snarky tone. I had heard enough and asked the employee “so are you the mask police today?” He stated “yes I am, it is policy”. I replied, “well I’ve witnessed you doing this several times and I understand your policy but you are being a bit much.” He continued to go on about policy to defend his behavior to which I restated, “I am just telling you as a customer that you should turn it down a notch”. He suggested I “take it up the chain if I had a problem with it”. I said “that is a great idea and I would love to do that”. Then a female employee stepped into the conversation and said, “There is no reason for you to be rude to my coworker.” I then set down the books in which I was going to purchase and told them both “I would never be back again.” I have no problem with wearing a mask and my whole family was masked without issues. I wear a mask in the classroom daily and have no problem doing so. What I have an issue with is someone harassing their customers about it. If you all don’t want to be working then just shut your doors and close your business. You’ve lost my business and my book loving children will be getting books elsewhere from now on. There are plenty of options online and people do not need you. You all should realize this. If you want a job and want to be open, then don’t walk around harassing people getting ready to give you money, it’s bad business and bad service.

This is a great place to find whatever a reader would want. If it is not in the store near you, they will get it for you if in print,And some that arent in print anymore. I have visited them in several States to buy gifts for babies to the elderly and have always found what I went after. My favorite place for gifts and for my own needs. They have a huge magazine section, a huge8 section of educational toys as well as books, journals, etc. Dont pass it by, go in and see all they offer, have a treat and beverage in the cafe. Sit in a comfy chair and browsethrough a book of your favorite topic.

Manager was nice to take care of me but the cashier was flustered and not friendly at first. She could not figure out how to re ring up a purchase that I was over charged for and give me the difference. In general because of her lack of comfort and willingness to talk to me directly, it made me uneasy. I just felt like I was putting her out. She would only talk to her manager and made me feel like I was being ignored. It was just not good customer service.

Atmosphere is nice if you want to go on a date, the prices are fair on Nooks/E-readers and physical books. Youd be hard pressed to find your college textbooks here, but they have an excellent selection of fantasy and horror novels to keep you coming back. Id also recommend buying some of their unicorn items (they are cute and somewhat useful).

Sales were not clearly labeled. We got two books that were labeled on sale and were not. This ended up being the 2 time it happened. They offer no other discounts such as military or student

Still getting use to being in a new place. Usually ask where things are to save myself time. I appreciate the associates taking the time to show me where the items I am looking for are and not just pointing me in a general direction. I have been there several times and customer service is always at the same level. Thank you again for the great help.
