I write reviews fairly often when the conduct of employees and policies of a business are remarkable- one way or the other.If I may just say, this business made moving as painless as possible because of great employees (and facilities!).Gina, and JQ are some sort of dynamic duo. We drove 12 hours with a breakdown and several serious problems, and did not arrive until 5 am. We awoke at 10 and made it to this facility by 11. When we got here, it was 1230. Because the facility was new they closed early, and it only left us with 2.5 hours to unload a 26ft trailer and carrier. Needless to say, we were worried because we needed to get on the road early the next day. No sooner than we had mentioned that, Gina offered to stay to ensure that we could finish it all and get back on the road in time. If you’re looking for a place with great employees and great service to meet all of your relocation needs- look no further than this place. It’s top notch.

I constantly have problems with this location. One time I reserved a truck in advance and when I got there they kept telling me it was with a customer and they would be back any minute. Ended up waiting for 3 hours and finally they told me it wasnt coming and that they would have to give me the 50 refund which took like 2 months to process. I eventually had to go 30 minutes across town to another uhaul that had one truck left so in turn I had to pay a lot in gas a mileage. Now Im renting a unit and when I bought it I asked the guy if I needed to do anything when I first went in (like if it had a lock or anything) and he told me that there was just a green tab on it and to pull it off. So I went to the unit the next day with car full of stuff to put in (its at a location down the road from their office) and there was a lock on it. The office phone of course wouldnt pick up and just played music so I had to drive down to the other location and get someone to follow me back and they couldnt unlock it so they had to go get someone else and they came back and eventually got the lock off only to find it stuffed with someone elses stuff. They told me they would get in touch with me the next day and they never did. Now Im trying to call the office but Ive been on hold for 30 minutes so far with just music playing.

1) Moved my items without my authorization.  After hurricane sally, 2020, I had to inspect my belongs in my unit as requested per uHaul.  I had to dry out the unit and the floor due to flooding from the damaged roof caused by the hurricane. Took pictures of items and put everything back into my assigned unit.  Went back about a week later to store some items, found out MY lock was cut, my stuff moved to a different unit without my approval and my items were touched and gone through by complete strangers. I received no courtesy call or email about this move.  They also replaced MY master lock with one of their own less expensive locks and didn’t reimburse me for my lock they cut off.2) this facility does not open on time per it’s posted hours on the front door.  I’m a firsthand witness, check your security footage; 3/15/2021 and 3/27/2021.  7am open time.3) this location made an unauthorized charge to my bank account.  I discussed with an employee (Matt) on 3/14/2021 about upgrading my storage unit.  Employee stated they don’t pro rate so I told him I’ll be back at the end of the month to upgrade (I want my bills due at the end of the month).  I was alerted later that late night from my bank and an email from uHaul stating they charged my account and assigned me to an upgraded unit.  My bank account was charged without my signature or approval. Undisputed, I have all documents pertaining to this unauthorized transaction.  It took ten business days for my refund. TEN days to give me back my money that was stolen from me!  I didn’t authorized or approve the transaction, so that classifies the charge to my account as steeling my money.4) They have zero customer service.  I closed my account and moved out of my unit on 3/28/2021.  I forgot my antique iron bed rails from the 1800’s propped up in the front corner of the unit.  Them knowing I just moved out, they didn’t call me or try any means of contacting me about the items I forgot.  They took the bed rails and immediately  put them in the front area for anyone to take.  Luckily I remembered them a few hours later, went back and was able to retrieve my property before someone else took them.

I had the upmost horrible experience I was sent to another location we got there and the storage container outside, was flooded so I was put into another storage on location inside was supposed to get a month freesupposed supposed to be given a month free

Lets start off by saying that we have used Uhaul for our last 4 moves and the owner of this location specifically will make us find a new company for the next one. We go into town with our 26 truck needing to put it in our storage we have already reserved right at the cut off for closing. However, they have Justins number (the owner/general manager) listed around the building to call after closing. After an hour and half of trying to get in touch with him his response was well I dont know what you want me to do I am eating dinner with my family. Not to mention that they brag that you can do everything from your mobile phone except every link you click leads you to a number to call that will leave you on hold for 30+ minutes in the Florida heat. So after driving 7 hours now we have to find a place to keep our truck stored until they open. Next day we drive to the designated location for them to give us the number for our unit, followed by a drive to a different location for the actual unit. Now we are at a location with no employees and are greeted with a red tag on the unit that reads out of service do not use. Now we are are on hold again for another 30 minutes in the blazing sun to inform them of their mistake. the cherry on top was when they changed the unit number they failed to change the alarm over and resulted in another 30+ minute wait on hold. I understand that the facility might be busy, but for a long wait followed by Justin giving a condescending answer to make everything seem like it was out fault was extremely unprofessional. When moving is already stressful enough do not make it even more stressful by using this facility.

This place is the BEST, all the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Matthew is awesome. I have never had any bad experiences with uhual or this location, and I must have used them about 100 or more times by now. Now that I have my own trailer hitch, its $27 with $5,000 insurance to rent the trailer I need and take care of business without paying per mile.

Manager Justin is fabulous, he is professional and efficient, besides quite pleasant. His hitch man was great too, I’m sorry I forgot his name. They saved me a lot of time. I live in Fort Walton but my store didn’t have parts for 5 business days, which may have squeezed my plan. Now I’m ready with a hitch and can go whenever is most convenient.Thank you for such excellent service!!!!!I’ll be renting a trailer end of this week. Also the inside of this building is spotless, I’d be confident to store things there too. Thank you UHaul!

I have used U-haul for all of my moves across several states and I have never had an issues. Ive had 2 issues with this specific location. I honestly feel theres fraudulent practices going on.I rented a truck about 6 months ago to pick up some furniture. I was charged a $25 cleaning fee. I just assumed it was something I missed. I know the truck was spotless, but I didnt really think of uhaul being fraudulent, so I took it.I rented a truck for my move on 11/5. I rented it for 2 days and had it turned in 18 hours early. On 12/3 I received a text message that there were outstanding charges on my account. They had charged me another $25 cleaning fee.This time I called customer service. She told me theres always photos uploaded if theres a cleaning fee. There was only 1 photo of the back of the truck and the customer service rep stated on the phone that she did not see anything that needed to be cleaned.She filed a dispute and told me that someone would contact me. No one contacted me and they debited $50 from my account this morning. I called back to uhaul and she said that the GM left a note that he called me and I have no voicemail set up. There was no call and i receive voicemails all the time.My dealings with customer service are enough to make me not want to us U-haul again. They absolutely refused to work with me to charge the cleaning fee but refund the late fee. Its not about $50. Its about fraudulent practices of this specific location. Save yourself a headache and drive .03 miles down the road and use a different location. Ive filed a BBB Complaint and an Attorney General Complaint. I strongly recommend doing a video or photos of the truck before you turn it in.

I told them I wanted to pay cash when I returned the uhaul & they charged my card anyway before I even dropped it back off, & no it was not just a hold on my card. I then had to pay a difference for going over miles slightly which I paid in cash & they double charged me for the extra mileage on my card too. Called customer service & they wouldn’t do anything about it.. they said go back to the uhaul I ordered from to try to sort it out. NOT HAPPY & never going back to these uhaul scammers again.

I used U-Hauls Ubox service for my move from Colorado to Georgia. That service has been excellent and I would highly recommend it. However, I was somehow charged for storage of Ubox at the West Penacola location (obviously NOT in Georgia!) and have been trying diligently for two weeks to get a hold of Justin Peterson, the manager, for assistance and getting this charge reversed and this Ubox removed from my account. Every time I call this location, the phone rings through to the corporate office. Everyone at the corporate office has been kind in trying to assist me by calling Justin personally, sending him e-mails and direct messages and assuring me the Justin will be calling me shortly to resolve this matter. I have patiently waited for two weeks for some sort of communication from him, but unfortunately, I am still still here, waiting! This is the first negative Google review I have ever written for a business, but at this point, I dont know what else to do to get his attention. I am concerned that I will continue to be charged monthly for the storage of this box until he takes five minutes of his time to deal with this issue. I work for a company that manages 5 small business and I know that if any of our managers treated our customers the way Ive been treated, I would want to know about it!

Only one person processing rentals. There was a long line so wait time of one hour for a 9 am reservation. Ended up getting out of there about 10:30. SEVERELY understaffed!!!! Save some time and go somewhere else. Anywhere will be better than here. To top it off after an hour wait they didn’t have the appliance dolly I reserved so have to go somewhere else!!!
