So honest! Ive had previous good experiences with this crew and had a lovely phone conversation today that helped allay my fears about whether or not my car is appropriate to drive after a year of sitting in a parking lot. They helped me understand which maintenance services were needed and which were not based off a list of services recommended by the Nissan dealership. They saved me $250+ just answering my questions for free, and said theyd do engine inspections automatically with oil changes, instead of the $190 the dealership insists to check the engine.

I highly recommend Brock Automotive! I took my 2004 high mileage Acura in to diagnosis a noise coming from the steering, they quickly found the problem and it was going to be a big repair. When I brought my car back in to have the repair done they also found the transmission is failing. They were professional and trustworthy in advising me how to proceed and did not charge for their time to diagnosis the problems. Looks like I have a new car in my future, but I will come back to Brock when needed and will recommend them to my family and friends!

Super honest repair shop. Whenever some other place writes my car up for an issue I go to Brock for a second opinion. Oftentimes theyll tell me that there isnt actually a problem with my car and turn me away, or tell me to come back in for another look in a few months. When they do do repairs its at a fair price.If Id taken other mechanics suggestions at face value Id be out thousands in unnecessary repairs/replacements, but thanks to Brocks I only pay for repairs that are actually necessary.

Mark is by far the best mechanic Ive ever dealt with Ive never had a good experience with a mechanic before in my life so Ive taken my car to different mechanic shops in the past in hopes of finding a good 1 and I did at Brock automotive. My engine seized up and I needed to get it replaced he did a amazing job on my car and it runs just as good as the day I bought it. He was honest with me which is surprising to see with a mechanic shop the price he quoted me to fix my car was pretty much what he said it was going to be which is a experience Ive never had with any other shop EVER usually its more expensive than what they quoted not only that he fixed other stuff on my car that couldve potentially been a problem in the future like he replaced my spark plugs, a belt that was worn and some lights he has earned my trust which is hard to do and he has a client for life I wont trust anyone else to work on my car from now on. Brocks is the best mechanics Ive taken my VW to. I have been to them before covid, and have always been impressed with their service and professionalism. I had a check engine light and a performance issue with the car recently. They worked tirelessly with determination and honest communication to get the problem resolved. Ive experienced mechanics trying to take advantage of the situation but not these guys. They let you know before anything is done and explore all options to give you respectful and affordable service that they can provide. I came into Brock Automotive with my car undercarriage cover loose, which I was hoping to get fixed that morning since it was grinding on the road and I had about 60 miles of highway driving ahead of me. Weve been taking our European cars here for years. They are very knowledgeable, great mechanics, and more importantly fairly priced.Id say if you have a BMW, Audi, VW, or Saab, this is a great place to take for matinence or repairs.

Update: Another great experience with these guys 10/19. My car was shaking violently and had no acceleration. Very fair. Fast. Super nice.Original review: I would never take my car anywhere else. I had an old RAV that they kept running for years until it was totalled by my insurance. They never overcharged me or asked me to do anything that wasnt necessary. They always give options for prioritizing work, knowing that sometimes the value of the car doesnt match the cost of the repairs. I bought 2 older Subarus. I had one in the shop and I was driving the other one. When I told them I was taking one down to my brother (300 miles away), they walked out to the parking lot to check it over really quick and make sure that I had enough fluids to make the trip. I didnt ask them to, they just did it to be nice and didnt charge me anything. Now the Subaru that I kept is in with them and they gave me a very detailed evaluation of what it needed and I felt that the price was extremely fair for bringing an 18-year old car up to what I need. I have been very happy with them, I feel like they are honest and have always felt well taken care of here.

A good shop is priceless and this shop most certainly is the best. The service is outstanding and the price is very fair and polite. I am a huge car fan and i do work on my own cars but i just can not do everything and this is where Brock Automotive helps me. I had a 5 series BMW that i serviced with them, this car was my baby and they always fixed its problems. I live all the way on the East side of town and do not mind the drive at all, i promise you its worth it. Once i was quoted a price for a check up and when i came back to pick it up they have charged me half of what they quoted me because it took them faster to find the problem. There are many of these good examples with this shop. I will be a customer here for as long as i can.

DONT TRUST THESE GUYS! I took my car in with engine problems and asked them to check it out. I said that it felt sluggish, as well as had issues starting and the engine was misfiring. My check engine light was on and I had already gotten the diagnostic codes pulled- so based on that, I knew that there was the potential of having to replace my catalytic converter. So when they told me that my catalytic converter was so clogged up that it was on the verge of failing, I thought it was valid. However, I asked to see the pictures they took with their scope camera and for some reason they didnt exist... Again, I thought that they were right at this time. They promised that the $1300+ replacement of my catalytic converter would solve all the problems. So I took my car into a mechanic friend to do the work, and when he pulled the catalytic converter off, it was in great shape. It was evident that they didnt actually check to see that it was clogged, instead they pulled the codes and lied about using the scope camera. So when my car broke down, I towed it to Brock Automotive so that they could give me the full diagnostic test I had already paid for. I showed them the pictures I took on my camera of my catalytic converter and they admitted that it clearly wasnt faulty. This time, they told me that my engine was misfiring in two cylinders due to too low of pressure. I asked what the compression test showed the first time I brought my car in. They said they didnt do one since they didnt think it was necessary! They skipped the most basic check a mechanic should do when a car is brought in for an engine check. Now it was too late for my car, the engine needed to be replaced. Had they done the basic checks to start with instead of just pulling the codes, my car might have been salvageable.

Fair pricing, they had my car in and out in less than 24 hours.

I would not bring my car here for diagnosing anything. Maybe if you already know whats wrong and just need the labor done. They are cheaper on an hourly basis then other places, but they take longer diagnose so you are not saving money. I gave up on them after a quoted 1 hour diagnosis turned into a we need 2.5 more hours to diagnose this ($250 bucks total)...turns out another shop was able to diagnose it for 1 hours labor without any problem. They also had to reschedule me the first time I brought the car in although I had made an appointment which was pretty annoying...if I have a 8:30 am appointment I shouldnt have to come back another day because they overbooked people on that day.

Needed to get the tailgate struts replaced on my 2007 Honda Odyssey. Quote from Beaverton Honda: $240, $67 of which was for labor. Quote from Brock Auto: $80 total. What if I bring in the parts, I asked. Their reply: Oh, well just put em in for free, its really simple. I have had several other experiences like this with Brock, which is how they have earned my lifelong business. I dont like going to mechanics, because they could pretty much tell me anything and Id have no way of knowing whether they were being truthful. However, the guys at Brock have fully earned my trust for a number of reasons. I hope to never have to take my cars anywhere else to be serviced.

Dan and his crew fixed my Acura in hours compared to trips to the dealership that would have taken days. Broken Axle, broken Engine mount along with oil change for much less money but most of all time that is of more value to us all. Had it back next day at noon after towing it in. Dealership said it would take a week to even look at it since it would be towed in.

These guys have done a good job for me and I appreciate it all.

Brock Automotive did an outstanding job on the 60,000 mille tune up/maintance checkup. That would be the timing belt, spark plugs, transmission checkup, tune up, gas filter and numerous other things that involve a 60,000 mile repair. The car now runs so well that my gas millage went up, the car is quitter, and the price was not back breaking. With the great customer service and accurate car repairs, I will only go to Brock Automotive.

This is my third visit to Brock. On this most recent visit, they changed the oil in my 2003 Nissan Frontier. They commented that it didnt seem to take much oil (3.5 qts). I did some research and confirmed that it really does take only 3.5 qts. Apparently the other places I went to before Brock were overcharging me, claiming it was taking 5 qts of oil. Brock Automotive has made many points with me by doing good work AND being honest. This is why I drive 2.5 hours to have them take care of my truck. Thank you, guys.

Honest and Trustworthy:I recently took my hot red 2004 Mercedes SL500 to Brock Automotive (09/15/2015) for a FREE estimate on issue I have with my front suspension and steering squeaking really bad. It was so loud that when I drive out of my garage, my neighbors would look at my direction, so I stopped driving my car for a week. Anyway, Brock team inspected my car and determined it was a Ball Joint mounted on the steering knuckle. The Mercedes service book rate estimate it would takes 5hrs for the job because they have to disassemble the steering rack. So my estimate came to $595.00 with Lemforder Ball Joint (OEM part). I then called Mercedes of Portland and asked how much it will cost to replace same part + labor for comparison. They quoted me $1,400 expensive!! So Brock will be the one to service my car. The next day, they called me said my car was ready; theyve tested drove it and no more squeaks. They also inspected the condition of other bushings and ball joints and were good. I arrived to pick up my car, and then met with David Brock (shop owner). He adjusted my total bill down to $450.00 and said he spoke with the mechanic who worked on my car that he was able to completed the job 2 hrs less time than estimate. I am thinking, wow.. I am hearing this right? A repair shop just lowers my bill lower because they can finish quicker than the shop repair book estimate? Wow its rare to find a shop with this honesty and integrity. It really blew my mind!!

Fixed the problem for a month then same issue. For almost 3 grand I could have got another car and saved face. Check all work before you leave. You might end up with their used batteries and parts. Also don’t listen to when the tell u verbally that they changed stuff because your gonna end up with the same problem.
